If you employ a migrant domestic worker in Singapore, you are responsible for her six-monthly medical examination, known as the 6ME. Here is what it involves and how to keep it simple.

When is the 6ME due?

Every six months while your helper holds a Work Permit. MOM sends you, the employer, a letter when it is due, so watch for it. Missing the deadline can affect her pass, so it is best to book her in promptly once the letter arrives.

What does the 6ME check?

The exact tests depend on the cycle, but a 6ME typically includes:

  • Pregnancy screening
  • Syphilis screening

After two years of employment, MOM may also require a chest X-ray and an HIV test. We do all of this on-site, so there is no separate trip to an X-ray centre.

What your helper should bring

  • Her original passport and Work Permit card
  • The 6ME letter or medical examination form from MOM, if you received one

She can come on her own. Our staff are trained to explain each step clearly and respectfully, so she is comfortable throughout.

How fast are the results?

Same day. A consultation before 10.30am has results by 3pm, and a consultation before 5pm has results by 10pm. We notify you the moment the signed MOM form is ready.

Sending several helpers?

Maid agencies and runners can ask us about corporate pricing and flexible plans for regular senders.
