Applying for a Student’s Pass, Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP / LTVP+) or Permanent Residence? ICA requires a medical report as part of the application, completed and signed by a registered Singapore doctor. Here is how the examination works.
Who needs it
- Student’s Pass applicants (university, polytechnic, private school)
- LTVP and LTVP+ applicants: spouses, parents and children of residents
- PR applicants asked by ICA to submit a medical report
- Dependant Pass holders who need an examination
What the examination covers
For most applicants, ICA requires only two things:
- An HIV blood test
- A chest X-ray for tuberculosis screening
Both are done on-site in one visit, unless your IPA letter asks for more. The doctor completes and signs the ICA medical report form for you.
What to bring
- Your original passport
- The medical examination form from ICA, usually in your IPA letter or application portal
How long it takes
The full examination takes about 20 to 40 minutes. Your signed ICA medical report is ready the same day, by 10pm at the latest, so you can proceed with your application without waiting.
